Description
I got tired of trying to create the perfect background for a butterfly I was working on. Decided to get back to my roots and do something dark and abstract instead. Hope you like.Created with Ultra Fractal

Fractals are strange at times, I often see what the formula has to offer, then kick it in gear afterwards. Each formula has it's own nuances, and sometimes takes a bit to figure them out, but with practice and work, you can create some interesting things.

Thanks, this was an extreme for myself as I pushed textures to the limits, while keeping the light effects I use a lot.

I'm not familiar with the program but understand the nature of fractals. It's an area I hope to learn at some point (in making a killer image) but at this point I can look in amazement at the beauty of fractal/fractal art.
I'll be stopping back (and looking forward) to what new ones you cook up
Take care ~ enjoy! Great time of the year...

Thanks, kinda going for dark and ominous textures with this one so I'll take that.

This is a tad creepy with claws and tusks. Not exactly your "butterfly" is it.

No, sometimes dark fractals clears the head for lighter works later.

Nice one, Jeff. The textures remind me of girders and cables and bridge structures.

Thanks, that's kinda what I had in mind, a dark, twisted structure.

I think that is why I love your work so much ... it's dark.
Lord knows I love dark colors in fractals and things that just scream twisted.
Not that I am calling you twisted or anything ...

the way you work with UF continues to leave me speechless - how on EARTH did you get those arrows?!
Nevermind. I will never understand it - and even if I did - it would never come close to looking so freaking snazzy LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!

Lots of digging and experimenting with transparent sections. They influenced the vision for this so I kept working to give them a place to go.

A little hard to see in the small view, but it's full of creepy goodness in the large view! The white wisps remind me of ghosts.

Part of the name was me picturing escape ships trying to get away, but only being guided to infinite lostness. Maybe they didn't make it out.
