I've tried drawing a few times but don't have the talent right now. Fractals like this come more naturally to me, it's a gift.

This is awesome, as arm many of your other peices. Fractals are fun, but how many programs do you have?

I use UF mostly, and occasionally Apophysis, but I have about 4 or 5 fractal programs. As for art programs in general, too many.

Love the blue colors -- great work in FE --
I'm still trying to figure FE out, but learning.

Blue and red are the easiest colors to work with in FE. Did you run through the tut on the site? On the main page, there is a link called How To Use Fractal Explorer. It's on the right side, midway down. When I first downloaded FE, I ran through that and got some ideas on how to use it. The rest I learned by fiddling with parameters and settings. If you ever need help, drop me a note.

Pretty nice looking, althought I've seen alot of similarly-styled stuff.
Well, although abstract, I try to be creative, and I like putting things together for fun..
See the nice crisp wire-like things in the foreground? Well they're pollen latching onto the uhh.. screen.. Obviously trying to kill me. They're spiralling forth from some sort of burst of an organic egg.

Big thanks. You gave a very detailed and honest critique, which isn't always done. I too like to be creative, so tackling a flower was a challenge. Flowers are so common, in about every gallery, so I tried to add things that normally people don't. It would have been easy to just post a colorful image and move on, but I tried to make something with more of a sci-fi twist to it. Now that you mention it, it is kinda on the abstract side, but it is 100% fractal. That's a good reminder to check out the abstract/wallpaper gallery, which I don't do enough.

Yes and definately no. There are times I'll see a fractal and think it's FE, and find out it's UF, or vice versa. UF is a more complex program that gives the user more freedom of creation. FE is more of a beginners program, which I am. I'll probably keep using it because it is such fun to work with. The interface is extremely user friendly, whereas UF has a ton of things going on. I have UF, but haven't tapped into it yet. I keep putting it off.
Thanks for the comments.

Looking down a cliff face, it seems as if there are organisms, perhaps plants, trying to hang on and survive. It also appears as if blue flames are coming up from the center (of the earth?) to meet the viewer. I really like the whispy effects on the "starts". Just way too cool.
