Today happens to be Lei-Lani's birthday! I've always loved themes of the ocean, and I think this is the first time I've ever drawn an otter. This lovely lady was a perfect opportunity to display both. She and her housemate have been a tremendous help in the refining of my novel, so this kind of acts as a double-occasion gift

I like how you blurred the background, that's not typical practice when doing backgrounds I've noticed - with anyone. This whole picture is just beautiful.

Thanks ^_^ I've been experimenting with blurred backgrounds and I think I'm getting close to a type of faux-focus that gives the images more depth. Glad you like it!
