Anybody who does not know Gainax ending is here is the short version, its a troll ending. So what you see above, the guys who did this in the show was for a troll, why? Because he wants chaos out of it, he wants the fans getting demanding and angry or confused. Your welcome.

I had it spoiled for me before i finished the series... I commented on a picture of Stocking saying she was my favorite character, and someone replied saying "You know she's a demon?" Im like... I didnt finish the series...

Stocking may have been corrupted by Corset on her trip to Heaven, and he ordered her to return and seem normal, but then to kill her and the stuff in the ending about Oten City 'n shit. Proof of this is the image with the Giant Stocking Ghost and the others trying to fight her.
I sure hope they turn her back to normal so to let her continue being a bitch along with Panty.

I really hated the ending actually ( I be hateing )
only a few reasons why tho.
1. there sisters
2. holy weponds
3. there mother was the same.
4. Stocking went back to heaven, they dont allow demons there, I'm pretty sure.
5. it doesnt make sence at alll.
but I supose f it is going to be that way I will want to watch the second season.
