glad to see this come back. this does kinda make me want to go back to the game, but I just couldn't get into the gameplay. which is a shame, because I LOVE the Inquisitor's story. and i'm given to understand the gameplay has gotten worse in recent patches. that, and this expansion in particular severely discredited the Exile and no one seemed to care, and it's been so long since we've seen her that I don't think anyone at BioWare is planning on fixing it

I don't know, I never really noticed significant changes in gameplay, just that new content has been limited. The episodes they do release are nice in my opinion, but they don't take very long to complete.

You know, Bioware had an opportunity to fix Revan in this DLC. Have DS Revan be defeated, then LS ghost Revan reunites with him/her, then he/she becomes normal and goes back to lead the Republic. There you go. Nobody liked Chancellor Saresh, so it would have been better if Revan was the Chancellor. Or some kind of ally against Zakuul and a friend to an Alliance that has both Imperial and Republic members. Revan will then finish what he/she started 300 years ago and help you kill the Emperor for good. Or have Revan get possessed by the Emperor, then Revan imprisons the Emperor permanently in his/her body while you strike him/her down, ending the threat of the Emperor and giving Revan his/her peace.

An ally against Zakuul would seem more likely to me, since the Jedi try to avoid political power. Unless we go through something about Revan setting aside being a Force practitioner, giving up the lightsaber, and becoming a citizen who ends up getting elected.
I did originally expect Revan to help the SWTOR player characters kill Vitiate for real, though, which could have involved self-sacrifice and a final death for Revan as well--that actually seems more poetic to me than having Revan live on, but it would depend on how it was done.

Oh, no, my version of Revan goes all Dictator in the Roman sense of the word. He's not like any Jedi at all. He uses the death of Chancellor Janarus and the recent Sith victories as a reason for him taking over the Republic army and Jedi forces. In fact, I scrap the story for the Revan DLC altogether, and Revan begins to slip back to his Mandalorian Wars persona, while female Revan acts as his decoy and strategist, while Bastila, who was also captured and tortured by the Emperor for 300 years, supports the Republic army with Battle Meditation, which explains why the Republic wins Corellia, Ilum, and even manages to invade Dromund Kaas for a short while.
Revan takes over the Republic as Acting Chancellor after the death or retirement of Chancellor Janarus, and he slowly slides back into darkness as he starts employing the same tactics that won him the Mandalorian wars. The Republic becomes increasingly apathetic and it begins to care less about collateral damage, but it becomes more effective in winning the war against the True Sith at the cost of innocent lives. Revan's genius would lead the Republic to victory, from Corellia, to Ilum, to even at Dromund Kaas, where he helps spearhead the assault that ends with the Jedi Knight killing the Sith Emperor. Down to the point where the Sith Empire would collapse within one standard year by the start of the Hutt Cartel DLC-that would all be the result of Revan's genius.
But you'd also see the Republic transform slowly into a dark parody of the Sith Empire. The Republic officers start wearing the same uniforms as Revan's Sith Empire, and the new Republic Trooper uniforms are similar to the Sith uniforms from the Jedi Civil War. Chancellor Revan makes dispensations for Grey and Dark Jedi who serve him to act within the Republic as his enforcers, giving them extralegal authority to enforce his regime while disregarding the laws of the Republic. Strike forces made up of HK droids and Mandalorian Preservers start "visiting" people who protest against Revan's regime, and those folks are never heard of again. The new ships that Revan makes the Republic roll out are more reminiscent of the Sith warships he used back in the Jedi Civil War. He would have the Jedi Exile (who also survived as a captive of the Emperor and who also got rescued) lead a squad of specially-trained Sith who drain life, going around to capture and torture enemy Sith into serving Revan.
Eventually, the only difference between the Republic and the Sith Empire by that point will be that the Republic is efficient. The Republic only has one dark sovereign ruling them, while the Sith Empire has a whole Dark Council arguing over power now that the Emperor left them. The Jedi would excuse these changes as necessities for victory, but it's clear from how Revan is running the Republic that it's definitely not what it used to be. But it is effective at driving the Sith Empire back, and it takes less casualties from Zakuul's assaults than the Sith Empire does, thanks to Revan's superior management.
The Zakuul DLCs also mention how the Republic became more efficient at the cost of bureaucracy and "soul", and I would explain that away as Revan running the Republic as a dictatorship, where any dissent, be it from the Jedi, the military, or the citizenry, is quickly silenced. He'd control the Jedi Order through Satele, he'd put HK-47 in charge of the military, and he'd have G0-T0 run smuggler criminal ops to undermine the Sith. He'd also help the Outlander fight Arcann in exchange for helping him kill the Sith Emperor. The war with Zakuul becomes known as the "War of three Darths", with Darth Revan turning the Republic into a dictatorship, Darth Vitiate ruling Zakuul as Valkorion, and the Sith Empire electing a new Emperor who obviously wouldn't be someone as inexperienced as Acina.

Hey, umm. So, I haven't been on DA in a couple years, and I stumbled across your SWTOR stuff tonight and have just spent the last two hours reliving this storyline and having a blast.. (I like how you handled the Quinn betrayal+redemption! And I love how you fleshed out various options that we didn't get!) So I had to actually log in and tell you thanks. This stuff is really delightful. Many LOLs.

X'D
Poor Revan, at least she's inspired Dakrah to stay sane and such! That being said, I will miss your headcanon version of Revan, a lot more enjoyable than the one they gave us in the game ^^
So, out of curiosity, do you see yourself touching upon content in KOTFE and KOTET?
