Description
My entry: the result of hours upon hours of painting in Photoshop.I had to rush it a little but I am overall satisfied with the finished product. Thanks to EPIC games for making such a killer franchise!

Awesome job with the palette. The massive amounts of dark colors, little hits of bright color, and the powerful lightning bolt in the center blend together to create a sharp contrast between the foreground, middle ground, and background, and to re-create the tension felt in the entire Gears of War series, especially Gears of War 3. Keep up the good work!

What I love about this piece is that you really captured the Gears 3 vibe, which was totally different to the first two. Just looking at it makes me want to get on the XBOX and take on the whole lambent and grub army all over again!
I also like your choice of lighting. I tend to avoid the whole back-lighting thing, because it makes it harder to make out details, but it works really nicely for this piece; makes you look around at everything else going on in the piece.
Also, excellent title for this piece; such a Marcus thing to say!
