Your painting really has a deep feeling in it! It seems that he has somehow discovered that everything he needs can be found inside. The position of his arms is really gentle, like he was holding a baby (but in this case it looks to me like he'd hold the whole world in his arms). I just love it, it makes me feel safe!
..And gotta say, the contrast between the two strong colours truly is awesome. (:

A compelling image. I like the way the figure seems to be lighted from within, as is emphasised by the silhoutted hands (or possibly the light is shining through from behind?) and the way that the colours you have chosen harmonise.
