I'm amazed at how much of the character's likeness you managed to capture using the minimum amount of lines possible.

Omigosh, I should have looked up this tag waaaay earlier. This is so awesome :3 My favorite movie. Deserves some love. Also, WTF marshall? you're 30 years older than me, stop being hot. Plus, you can make eating medicine look epic. Not fair.

It kinda looks like a Disney-styled version of Pacific Rim.

It was hella fun, which made for a refreshing change. Β Summer blockbusters seem to have forgotten how to make you want to smile and whoop along with the action on screen. Β It's a nice change to want to cheer for the good guys, without there being a ton of angst and Batman style darkness. Β

I'd kill to get a PR animated series stylized like this, sort of like the Godzilla animated series that acted as a sequel to the terrible 98 movie, except for an awesome movie this time around.
I mean there really is just so much that they could expand on about the PR universe, from the first incursion to after the breach is sealed; a series would be fantastic.

I really liked that show, but not the movie. I'll actually sing Rob Zombie song in front of my entire school, if I have to. PR NEEDS an animated show. Seth McFarlane should make it.

"Pacific Rim" was one of the best movies I've seen all summer. It was awesome!
The picture's good, but I gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed in the content. I mean, it's a movie about giant robots fighting giant monsters, and all you drew was two of the characters? Also, as much as I loved Pentecost, I think that, if you're gonna draw two characters from the movie, you should draw Raleigh and Mako together. In fact, I think it would be awesome if you did a picture of them together in the Conn-Pod (that's the name for the Jaeger cockpit, in case you didn't know).

Good thing they're not drawing this specifically for you, then. Jeez.Β Β Β Here's an idea: What if the artist draws whatever they want? This is nicely drawn, and is a very cool stylization and interpretation of the characters. If you want a picture of Mako and Raleigh, why don't you draw it yourself? Oi.Β

Look, I know that Anna's not my own personal art slave. I would never think of anyone that way! The reason I said what I said in my earlier comment is because Anna's one of the most talented artists I know, and "Pacific Rim" is full of beautiful, epic, grandiose visuals. I just feel that, with a source material filled with such incredible visuals, drawing fan art that consists of just 2 characters against a white background seems like a waste of talent. But, that's just my opinion. I'm really sorry if I offended you.

Oh no, you didn't offend me. I just find your comment tasteless, and I think if you had any real experience as an artist yourself you wouldn't have made it in the first place. We draw what we enjoy. It's not for you. And it's not fair to minimize her efforts on this lovely piece because you would have "preferred" something different. It's just not something that needed to be said.Β
Anyway, the point was to tell her I enjoyed her art. So let's leave it at that.

Well, I don't have any experience as an artist. So, I guess I should've just kept my mouth shut.
You're right. It's still a great picture.
