Description
Water colossus in the epic battle with an unlucky elementalist.I chose the water theme because of the lovecraftian description.
Many thanks to ~Anyarr , who talked me into entering the contest. (
)It's the first time I painted something like this, so I'm glad I managed to finish it. I just wish I had more time for polishing... Eh, exam session is killing me...
Still, I learned a lot.

FAQ #18: Who selects the Daily Deviation and how is it chosen? has a list od mods who select the DDs, so you should check everything there. I think this piece would fall under Digital Art category... But still, I don't want to influence your decision, I'm just happy you like my work.

Now that's an interesting monster! 
The elementalist and background could have their own praise too. Looks like even if this human is small, it still has a lot of details (makes me wonder, what is the real size of this piece) - how da heck you managed to do those shades!? Also, the magic looks cool too (wish, I could do such illiusions of shine).
The background is another thing which quite attracts the eye - nice way using colours to make it look like it's a coral riff

I like the way you used the creature's wings for the composition. The bones in the wings guide the eye to the tiny figure facing the creature. Very well executed.

fabulous lighting here! the magical blue colours of light are beautiful, so well done!
overall the highlighting is great throughout and contrasts against the dark really well. i think brighter colours would have maybe improved this, but i can't fault much else. really really good work, i hope you do well in the contest!
