album cover art for the Thrash-Metal band ImmaculateThis commission was a nice opportunity to create a deep space nebula scene.
The phoenix bird emerging from the nebula clouds is so massive that it causes a catastrophic cosmic event, ripping a whole galaxy apart just by it's gravitational pull.

This reminds me of a scene from the Doctor Who episode "The Impossible Planet", in which a black hole is tearing apart an ancient star system that was once home to a mighty civilization.
