Description
Still Grounded. Be back soon. She’s a pirate, Ein!!!
the critiques I gained from the first CG, and from a professional artist I am going to work for this
summer.
Yes, I said. Piece made it into all-state for artists, I said. Good, he replied. Painting? No, I said,
laughing. Drawing, I said. Pencil. I can’t paint, I mused. It’s just painting a surface one solid
color and then adding your lights and darks, he advised. Nodded, I did. Took his advice, I did.
I drew this in Spanish last semester.
it’s my third semester, and I MUST start doing well in Spanish–no more of this B bullcrap.
I CG-ed it at home, and I really like the result. I still can’t get the clothing to look right. Too
much light, I think, and not enough blending. Tell me what I did wrong, again. I’m begging
you–full critique!!!!
I was terrified to do the hair and skirts, so I stopped in the middle and thought of a title and other
stuff. I didn’t want to screw anything up. That, and I tried the white skirt and failed miserably at
making it look anywhere close to real.
This is a character in a piece I’m writing. About pirates. And she’s a necromancer, too, and stuff.
Her name is Firenze Memphis Mustang. And she’s pretty awesome. Not as awesome as my
cousin, ~intangiblereverie ’s, character. Which I have yet to draw. And by character, I mean
that she thought up a character for me. Anyone who wants to think up a character for me, do it.
Just send the description to my notes.
If anyone actually reads this whole thing, kindly put a “couch” emoticon at the bottom of their
critique. Like this: : couch : Without the spaces. See?
Thanks!!!!

I like this one, too! Only one thing- are those her feet I can see at the bottom- or the top of her boots? Because if they are her feet I'd say that her legs are too short...
But anyway- her torso is very good! I'm especially liking the blue tatoos on her skin. I also like the way you made the hand show slightly through the- how shall I call it? Fuzzy globe-staff? Its very effective! The dragon is cute, too! he has no front legs! I love him.
I like the triangle on her hand- its like the triforce from "Zelda". Plus the border is also v. cool- gives the whole piece a -parchmenty pirate paper? effect.
Anyway apologies for gabbering at you for so long, but I really do like it! although I didn't understand what you and your Dad were talking about- piece all-state?

Again, I noticed. And I promise that I stared at the piece for about thirty minutes trying to decide what was wrong. Somehow I convinced myself it was okay. But I guess I was wrong. But I could probably stand to erase the boot parts and just let her legs fade off. Yep Yep.
Thanks for the comments!!!

LMAO!!!! Very wrong. I don't like the dragon at all. I should have taken it off while I still had the chance... :sobs:
