What are the odds that steam tech is far more viable as a main stay technology than it currently is if it was simply engineered smarter with the economic systems geared towards maintaining and developing them...(as pictured in steam punks)?
especially since steam technologies, just like hydraulics are integral to the current age, that without them, a vast number of technologies would be impossible today...

I have a two of a kind set of speakers. I met the head eng of BA at a bar and we became friends. He wanted to make a bookshelf pair of monitors but had no wood working skills so he proposed that we make two pair... one for me! He hand wound the coils, aluminum baskets, double magnets, 4" TMM with a sloped front. I siliconed tile to the inside walls and added all sorts of damping material. They weigh like 30 Lbs each. When attached to a good clean amp and a CD player with a good DA converter they are sublime. When he gave me a tour of their headquarters, I got to see Michael Jordan's personal car speakers being tested. Let me just say... he could strip paint with his cars sound system.

They sound amazing. I think I'm actually kind of amazed at how good they sound.. goes to show what high-dollar components will do for you, cause god knows I am not Amar Bose or anything.

No, they are full-range drivers.. they are small enough that they can reproduce the high end well enough!

It's sounds damned good for the size of those drivers, and it really does crank out the volume, but bigger, more expensive speakers do make a difference, as is to be expected. The amp is capable of driving much larger speakers, but I was shooting for a compact bookshelf-type system, it's definitely not intended to replace something like a home theater or anything.
