Here's my submission for Equestria Daily's Friend-Off (Jan/23/2015 - Feb/9/2015). It shares its title with the sweet, little story it's based off of, Flutterhug by Servant Phoenix on FimFiction. www.fimfiction.net/stories/rel…

I used the extension on this project, thanks Calpain , to practice new techniques to work a bit faster. I experimented with some adjustment layers to help blend elements together better. I've tried effects at least once, but I don't think I've used adjustment layers in a drawing before. Building that background was slow going at first, but once I had the rhythm down it went pretty quickly. I tried drawing a few things differently, mainly eyes and wings. I like showing the layered feathers, though when wings are fully folded they appear to be smooth, not jagged. I imagine Fluttershy's wings would be open a bit though, hugging a crying Silver Spoon.
