I've been working on this one for a while. I made a point of doing authentic gear in this piece and getting all the little details right. I also noticed that most of my military pics don't actually include combat. I just like painting slightly serene pictures of soldiers in poses. Well I'm still a beginner artist and I think I'm pretty satisfied with this piece a lot of effort went into getting all the little specs of the M4 right and playing with the shading on the face just sucked away days of my life.Related content

The detail on the uniform is insane. The way the headband never sits right on the helmet, and the shoulder pocket doesn't close flush...have you been in ACUs before? This is an awesome picture. The only thing that's slightly off it the way he's holding the weapon. It just looks like an odd way to carry it, butt away from the body. Maybe I'm just seeing it wrong. Great job, overall!

Thanks. I'm just a military nerd and all I have is some combat clothes for airsoft. I'm not actually in the service, but I am very detail oriented. I'm glad that people notice because good lord I poured so much time into this piece!

Haha, yeah, you are definitely a very patient man. I would have never finished something like this. I've recently gotten into airsoft after getting out of the service...good stuff. Anyway, most of the helmet is almost photo-freakin-quality, and it's tripping me out the more I look at it.

The work you did seriously paid off. That's a pretty realistic, almost looked like a photo at first glance.
