Whatever you think of the Academy Awards these days, (And award shows in general) I think we can all agree that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse EARNED that Oscar, making it the first non Disney/Pixar film to win Best Animated Feature since Rango back in 2011.....and this was from the SAME studio that gave us The Emoji Movie last year. Talk about a redemption story. XDBut yeah, I promised myself that if Spider-verse manage to win, I would draw this in both celebration, and to make the perfect meme to describe both Sony films. I understand that the production to Emoji Movie was a different story because of some guy had this idea which bombed, but considering how you have Sony having this peatier of The Emoji Movie then Spider-Verse, because that is just groundbreakingΒ

Ps. You forgot that the "villain" in the Emoji Movie was a cheap forced King Candy/Turbo-wannabe, but less cynical for the protagonists and the story's world than him.
Ralph Breaks the Internet was better than that movie (well, except Spiderman into the Spiderverse...Even with many references and easter eggs, I loved it...R.I.P. Stan Lee ;~

I saw some irony in the description considering that the Emoji Movie was trash, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was apparently excellent (My fucking parents wouldn't let me just because of it being animated), and they're made by the same studio, so that is complete irony..... XD

Shrek was the first to use it, and in the context of that movie, it was a fun surprise that fit in with the rest of the movie's references to modernity and made sense because it was being held at a wedding. When Shrek became popular though, other movies started to copy it, but without the context or build-up. Now it's just a lazy way to end the story without having to write an actual ending and a cheap attempt to get the audience hyped to buy whatever radio single you attached to the movie on iTunes.
