I doodled several different options for her horns but this reindeerish style seemed to suit her best.
And that kind of tall and branchy horns can also serve as lightning rod if needed when she uses her storm powers!

Weird is always good. ^^
In Finnish the word that translates as horns is a hypernym for all the appendages growing from head.
So if I think like a Finn antlers are just one type of horns but I guess it doesn't work that way in English.

A horn is a bone that is part of the skull, thus if it breaks, its broken for good.
An antler is a bone that is NOT part of the skull. They are shed regularly and regrown.

It is weird that I have so different style in digital and traditional: my traditional works are rather cartoonish but in digital it is easier to do more realistic pieces. Although I tried to achieve my traditional style also in these two horn portraits especially in mane.
I was such a lazy-ass with the background and used a texture made by someone else but hopefully I can do my own textures in the future. ^^

Cool idea! I've been reading the other comments, and it's a shame you can't draw any more pics of her like this until she gets to the proper...level? I'm not really sure how it all works.

Yeah, I just failed understanding the group rules properly... in this breed there is a point system where you get levels and new stuff for your horse based on their level. More points can be acquired by drawing the horse. So this is like a little art based game inside dA. In the group rules it is said that antler-like horns comes from a guardian, which can be received after 100 points and I only have 27 points at the moment... So now Thyella either needs new horns or then she has to go without horns while I gather the needed points for guardian. Yesterday I was thinking that I won't be designing her new horns but 100 points is so far far away that I probably just suck it up and draw another kind of horns.

But, um, I don't know how to put this without sounding like a downer or anything, but I think I saw something about not having deer antlers for horns on the veratis points page for the breed. i might be wrong, but I just thought I'd mention it now so that you can check up on it. I'm pretty sure that it mentioned something about guardians in the same point, so if you plan on having a stag for a guardian, completely disregard anything I just said!

Oh no worries, I am glad you brought that forth. I had totally missed that antler part in the rules! 
I asked the admins and they said that antlers can only be shown if Cavitto's guardian is a stag.
I basically I can't show these antler-like horns until she has received her guardian - luckily I can still keep the desing and show this picture!
But no more horned pictures until she has enough points.

Yep, there will be a stag guardian eventually!

I managed to mess things up with Thyella's horns: Cavitto can have antlers only if their guardian is a stag... and Thyella is not any way near of getting a guardian. Soooo I just have to not her draw with horns until she actually deserves them according to rules - or then I can design her temporary horns. I think I just probably draw her hornless meanwhile; I already got attached with this desing.

Oh noes, I really like the look of those horns. They fit her so well. I'm glad she can at least "keep" the design once she gets her guardian (guess I don't have to ask which one she'll be going for 
I need to go review the Veratis Points journal again, and see what level everything is at. Thanatos is so close (ok, still 5 points away) to his laurels, but I have to review how far away everything else is.
