Description
Another random canine running around!This furry fellow is enjoying the snow and winter.
And now I had scanner available so no weird lightning this time.
The title Pyry is a Finnish word and means 'blizzard' or 'flurry of snow'. My friend had a Finnish Lapphund called Pyry and this doggy reminds me of Lapphunds so I think the name is very suitable.
Tools: Watercolors, salt, markers, colored pencils and white acrylic paint.

Yeah, the fur color and blue tongue really makes think about Chow Chows! But the anatomy is quite different: Chows have big amount of loose skin on their faces.

Hey i tried to use salt but it never got that kinda effect. It always have this lighter effect that cannot actually be seen. How long do you keep the salt on the water? And do you just put a lot of salt like a chunk? I love the entire effect, its AMAZING!!!XD

Thank you! I love this effect too, that's why I use it almost everywhere. 
I usually paint the area where I want to create patterns and then just sprinkle salt on it. Not a chunk, just little bit. Color must be quite moist or then salt doesn't absorb water and patterns won't show. When paper and salt are dry, I just scratch salt away. Patterns should appear quite fast while color is drying. Unpatient people can also use hairdryer to fasten process!

When ever I try to use salt it never works! I get so ticked! It is normal salt, or larger sea salt?

I use normal table salt, directly from kitchen.
Color has to be moist when adding salt or patterns won't appear. Also the amount of color has an effect on result; the more pigment the stronger patterns will be.

Hmmm... I have noticed that you have to quite fast when throwing salt on the picture: the paint has to be still wet. But it can't be too wet or the patterns won't be pretty. Just well moist. If the paint is too dry there won't be any patterns. Just go and experience with different levels of moist and you will find the perfect one! I hope this helps. ^^
