This is an entry for the Swimsuit Edition Art Jam held by , which can be found here: fav.me/dbeozdyI had some fun looking up swimsuit outfits of outdated eras that I decided to revisit the 50-60s era for a poolside party with the Kickline crew! I'm only hoping that this charcoal grill experience is more successful than the ones I've tried!
The Swimsuit Edition Art Jam and logo belong to Kickline and its characters belong to me. So does the artwork.

Everyone looks so adorable here! Everything is just marvellous from the cute colouring to the fantastic details. I know I keep saying 'detail' and 'colours' in my comments a lot but you really are nailing both departments! Keep at it!

I always enjoy your group shots in a big scene and this is no exception! I'm digging the outfits (I see those sneaky fluffy shows down there!) and the somewhat low angle look really gives it that retro vibe to my eyes.
Though I do have to wonder how on earth Goof managed to spring so high!

I had a lot of fun on this one (and I had to read your comment twice to see you meant Alison's fuzzy shoes there, nice eye!). And I initially had a diving board under Goof to show the spring action, but the girls kinda got in the way of that, so I thought the board would make the bg a bit too cluttered!
Either way, thanks for the comment, no matter if it's fall or summer (technically still summer anyway!)!

Gee, I wish I'da seen this back when I was coming up with a stage name for myself during my summer Grillmaster's apprenticeship ... not that a name like King Char-Le-Magne would've suited me, heh heh.
There's a lot going on with this magazine cover pic - but most easy on the eyes, just the same. You've got the retro look mastered, even down to those sleek, modernized house designs. I like the variety with the outfits and expressions too, of course!. Awesome entry, man!

Diggin' the retro magazine cover style of this scene, it certainly fits well with the wonderfully retro swimwear that your Kickline crew are sporting. Something tells me all but Candy trust that barbecue though.

I was trying to convey that the girl in the middle was getting too close to the BBQ grille, which caused a chain reaction for most of the characters to react. Either way, I'm glad the cover aesthetic was conveyed here. Thanks for the comment.

I hope a certain smarter than the average bear doesn't show up, though he prefers pic-a-nic BASKETS. Chels wears the accoutrements of the Bouffants and Bel Aires Era well, showing a more feminine air. ..she'd punch me for saying that, bouffant or no XD
also, LOVE the call back to medieval history with that grill's name! It also doubles as a corny gag, twofer!

I had a lot of fun with all the aspects of this pic, from the fashion to the products to the logos and to the character work. It's been a challenge to get pics going like this from time to time, but it's worth the time and effort spent into working on it.
