Description
The Pneumatic Monstrosity!ΒThis is my imaginary dinosaur for the Jurassic World Hype! It's a hybrid of Spinosaurus, Triceratops, Dilophosaurus, and T.rex. It also possesses heavily genetically modified, gas-producing chambers inside its stomach, allowing it to literally be "lighter than air"! Its modified tail allows for zeppelin-like locomotion. I also addedΒ traheripteryx.deviantart.com/ feather-whiskers for fun!
The Pneumatic Monstrosity levitates above the ground (like a blimp), using its long arms to snatch up unlucky victims.

Really? I knew I was not the first to create hybrid dinosaurs, but an entire forum? That's pretty cool! Do you know where I can find it?

also, in the 'build a better fake theropod' thing, do the dinosaurs have to be the result of genetic meddling, or can they be ones that naturally evolved?

To further elaborate, I don't think the gas inside it would give it enough lift to allow it to float like a balloon.

All Tomorrows is one of my favourite books, however it isn't the most plausible work of speculative biology. Genetic manipulation can't break the laws of physics here though, there's no handwaving for you in the genetics of a dinosaur. I would recommendΒ some articles on the Furahan blog on the topic of ballonts, the main one beingΒ planetfuraha.blogspot.ca/2011/β¦

Look man, I'm an artist; not a scientist. The purpose of #buildabetterfaketheropod is to make something wacky and out of the box
π: 0 β©: 1
HybridRex In reply to aGentlemanScientist [2015-07-03 05:33:52 +0000 UTC]
I thought it was originally to try to make more creative hybrid dinosaurs than the one shown in Jurassic World. Though it has become more of an excuse to create hybrid dinosaurs regardless (which I'm not against), some people even making non-hybrids. So it really doesn't matter I guess.

Woah, you really went for it! I like the idea of an animal evolving a lighter-than-air system for locomotion. I've not seen that done. This image is veering close to speculative alien concept art.

I love that idea about a dinosaur that has a locomotion of a blimp, dirigible, or zeppelin. It made me think of the song from Super Smash Bros. Melee, Poke Floats, or Mr. Patch's theme from Banjo Tooie. I bet planes, armed troops or helicopters would shoot the creature down if it had entered a city, eating civilians.

Zeplinosaurus. x)
That is such a nice idea, this thing would be a floating nightmare. But wouldn't they be too slow to actually grab anything ?
I also have another thing to ask you: Did primitive birds have teeth like the other dinosaurs did ?

aGentlemanScientist In reply to KiashiChan [2015-06-25 14:44:06 +0000 UTC]
