A birthday gift for my birdy bro , inspired by Surf's Up, one of his (and mine) favorite movies. Any film with lovely avian girls is gonna be near the top of the lists for us. And we just had to give two names to the penguin ladies in a certain conspicuous scene...Tried a whole bunch of new things with this pic, and learned a lot. Still a long way to go to feel comfortable doing shading, let lone scenery, but things came together pretty nice, I think.

Tried out a whole bunch of things, and they paid off! Looks fantastic man! The light shading works very well with the bright daytime scene, and the gradients in the water and sky give it a lot of depth. The characters have very prominent expressions too, and those are the perfect names to give them x)
