凯林事件，又称凯林战役，是人类展开针对小马帝国的全面殖民的战事标志。凯林本是一位原名为肖的科学家的代号，被ISNA派送至外星球搜寻重要的矿物资源和珍贵的水晶（同行的还有其他几人）。一旦他发现了什么东西，ISNA称有关部门便会接管此事。凯林很清楚“有关部门”是什么意思，加之他早已与这些小马积累了多年的感情，因此他本打算隐藏一切。但出乎他意料的是，他的航天器系统中有一个程序一直在向地球发送他所搜集到的关于小马的信息，并由此招来了军队。

This is the war, Karin Incident, marked the beginning of the total colonization of human beings to the Equestria Empire. Karin is the fake name of a scientist, whose real name was Shaw, sent by ISNA to find a planet for the human to collect raw material and crystals (there were some other people with him). They told him once he finds something, he must tell them, and other "departments" will take care of this planet. Karin knew what means "other departments", plus he lived with those ponies for such a long time since he arrived this planet, so he was unwilling to call back the human army. But he didn't realize that his spacecraft has a program that was always sent back the information he collected each day, and the army already knew everything.

This picture shows the basic situation a week after the beginning of the invasion, ponies have no way to defend human army at all. People thought it is Karin who called the army and caused the invasion, so that's why it named Karin Incident.
