Description
An old piece i discovered two days ago oAo, it was lined, flat colored and almost done with shading so i decided to finish it, it's kinda old so sorry if the perspective or the angles are not correct ;n; enjoy!EDIT: Woah! thanks so much for the DDΒ I could never imagine having one ;A; thanks Sonikkudrawings and Ry-Spirit !
EDIT2: I fixed the hand that is holding the board (I was so annoyed that this picture has a DD with that misshapen hand XDD)

i rly love the perspective no joke but i dont know how high he si in the air so if u could have a pack of birds in their triangular formation that they have when they fly for perspective close or far away (ur choise) woould add a really nice touch to the piece. other than that i just fell like the hand he is using to hold the board with is jst a little bit to big for me to buy it especially when you compare the fingers from the other hand. And also i didnt notice that the cloud shape in the background was suposdly created from the trail of sonics board until i took a closer look at the cloud form because it seemed out of place. So i guess the only thing i would have u work on is just adding stuff that are notacable by eye other than that u nailed sonic and the board with the coulors light and gradient so AWESOME JOB ^_^ (if u thought i was unfair sry and also i dont speak english so if anything like words are weirdly spelled sry about that ;_e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

This is so beautiful my dear~ This piece brought back a lot of memories for me of playing Sonic Rider after school. Perfect choice for the angle with it being the best way of giving the illusion of flight. The angle of the sun is also perfect as it forces the viewer to look directly into it and then wander onto Sonic on his air board. The shading and lighting on sonic is lovely and the anatomy on sonic's right hand has been done very well. I think his left hand though seems a bit awkward but since this is old you've probably fixed this problem by now. Overall I like the concept, the effects, and the whole mood of this piece. It's definitely one of my top favorite pieces. Great job!

thanks a lot! yeah, im still working with the hands XD they're hard to do, i still have the sai file with all the layers, so maybe i can fix this picture in a future <3 thanks ^^

No problem! And yes they are super difficult! It's just now clicking for me how they look at certain angles. Have you used quickposes or pixel lovely? They're gesturing drawing tools. They've really helped me with drawing hands

Honestly this image is simply stunning. The angles and proportions of Sonic and the board are perfect and his expression shows that classic grin that we've all come to love. The lighting is not overdone and adds to the mood of the image and the background looks as if the clouds should slowly be moving.
The use of light and dark is in the right places and you can tell that you have put a lot of time and effort into your art skills. Congratulations of the DD and I'll be sure to watch you because I'm sure the rest of your artwork will leave me just as impressed. ^-^

I don't want to be that old grump who trundles in here but--I'm gonna be that old grump that trundles in here. The main reason I gave the rating I did was not for lack of talent. The visions and talent are there--the lighting the angle, all of it is fantastic and talented and lovely.
The problem is, that I could really pick through any DD set up or even more so any highly rated gallery and find artwork on the same level. The anime-style is a style that we see very frequently hereabouts, and there are some incredible pieces with that same quality I see here.
To sum it up, it looks fantastic but it doesn't leave me breathless. I've seen this before and so it likely won't stick with me as much as some other works might, even within the same genre and style. Don't get me wrong, again, it's beautiful work, it really truly is. I just feel that perhaps something needs to make it really stand out amongst all the other beautiful fanart that is out there too.

Any criticism is appreciated, even if you take the opposite of the other, each sees the drawing as they want, there are people who can be impressed and people who do not

I normally don't like DDs. Mostly because the DD is generally not worthy of being singled out in my, especially if it's of somethingΒ that is more or less easily re-creatable by any given artist. Either that or DD winds up showcasing the same artists over and over again which I also feel does a disservice to what the DD should be about;
I think this is picture of yours absolutely deserves a DD. I believe Daily Deviations should be used to draw attention to exceptional artists that may not normally get any recognition. You are just such an artist. Your work is very, very good and deserves to have more attention! So no, I firmly believed you EARNED the DD. I mean, I pointed out what I thought of it, yeah but like I said, it doesn't detract from the quality of your art nor does it take away from the obvious amount of work you put into it.

I do agree that it's a fantastic piece, but it's just not breath-taking like everyone else has been saying. It's kind of missing that pop, you know?

This is, simply put: amazing. This really does look like it's part of a cutscene from the games, specifically the first one since it has an Anime opening, also the only Anime opening for Sonic Riders; plus the fact that you nailed the art style so incredibly well! It just fits so perfectly! Everything is perfect about this! Sonic's cocky grin, the angles, the perspective, the background; EVERYTHING is just SO. PERFECT! The grin matches Sonic's cocky, adventure loving attitude perfectly, the angle makes his board stand out incredibly well, the perspective really does make it look like Sonic actually IS jumping over your head like LittleFoxxie said! The background is so beautiful and wonderful! I cannot find a single flaw with this drawing, it's just THAT GOOD! Outstanding job! You deserve all the praise you get for this!

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!! I cannot stop admiring this. When I first saw this I actually thought the picture was from the game, I had to look twice. I love how you've drawn the sky, the colour of the sky makes Sonic's board stand out beautifully. And I also like the angle that you've drawn this from, it's very creative how were looking up at Sonic, it makes you feel like he's jumping over your head and your looking up at him, I don't know if that was your aim but if it was you've achieved it well. The glint of the sunlight is very affective, in my opinion that's what makes this picture look real. Sonic's expression is perfect, he looks like he's on a mission at beating Jet again in a race. This is the best Sonic Riders art piece I've ever seen on DeviantART. Seriously. I mean that. Nice choice on the angle for us to view Sonic. 
Also, nice work on the shading/lighting, further demonstrating we're looking up at Sonic. Additionally, nice work on the sky, making it appear very realistic (from the fluffiness of the clouds to the brightness of the sun).
