The are many other definitions of art. Art is a way of expressing ones emotions and expressing themselves. It's just expressive. As an artist, they can almost look at anything and see it as art, and it therefore inspires them. There are many users who are inspired by a template of eyes. Eyes are very important to draw for the simple fact that they are a part of the human body. Many artists draw humans, because humans are real they exist and we know what they look like.
The color in these eyes expresses there shape and emotion. Telling a story, one eye is shocked, something has happened. Another is looking back as though being aware or if someone is behind him. And another is crying, that can say a lot of things. The point of being an artist is knowing art is everywhere, from your home to the city, to a farm, to a town, to the sky and underground. Interior Design is also art, the pattern on that pillow is art. Accept art in many forms and your are a artist.
I like this piece for the very exact reason I explained. And it inspires me to draw. Eyes are not the easiest for me to draw and when I draw them they tend to look the same. You added so many differences to these eyes and not only that gave a story with each of them to boot. The color and the texture makes it seem like it's straight from a manga. Very creative and fun. ^^

Sorry, I can't help but feel you are over-exaggerating. These are very simple (and yes nicely drawn) anime styled eyes. Sure it's great to be inspired, but maybe you should try jumping out of the realm of anime. As you said, eyes are not the easiest for you to draw and the only way you will really learn is if you draw from life/ realism. Maybe try looking at master works.... you'll be surprised at what you come across

Oh of course. I agree. And I was thinking the same thing when I made that comment. I just thought it was silly how Zergikun implied that this was not art and there was no place for it on Deviantart. So clearly it wasn't an over-exaggeration if I was trying to get my point across and make it seem valid.
It was my fault for not quoting Zergikun. Maybe that would have made more sense.
