Description While there is indeed lore written for the three characters protrayed in this already, my knowledge of Eldar lore could definitely use some refining. So instead of posting it here I've decided to do some more research on the race and make sure what I've written could and can survive in the 40k universe without sounding far-fetched! (So as to mindfully avoid looking like it's written by a moron...)

Anyhoo! In a nutshell, the three characters portrayed here are the three main heroes and leaders of my original Craftworld, Ishayr. From left to right, they are Esther, Kaethyr and Ilyndrae.

I may actually release two versions of this, redrawing the characters in more relaxed positions with their environment. But early days...

I love your style here with these pictures. They seem very....distant. Kinda like I'm looking through fog into fantasy, almost like a dream ya know. I wanna say surreal but that doesn't seem to fit it in my mind. I suppose all I can say is that its awesome!

Also, love the Isha reference with the tree there

Haha, good eye.Β  Was wondering when someone would see Isha's likeness in the tree... unless you read the comment below.

Ah, apologies for taking nearly a year to reply.Β  I really like how you saw this one.Β  It's something I try to portray in a lot of my works that have this kind of 'theatre-esque' perspective, like the characters are on stage, telling a story while we look on at a distance.

Matter of fact until you mentioned it I hadnt seen that comment no, but its good to know I'm not the only person who knows their lore! Also its fine, I'm just happy you got back to me. I'm glad I hit the nail on its odd shaped head as well!

Fantastic. Β I love the female form of the tree. Β It's quite haunting looking down on the three Eldar. Β What was your intent with the tree??

Aikurisu In reply to Gern44 [2017-08-27 14:09:37 +0000 UTC]

Good question!Β  I actually drew it as an embodiment of Isha, the Eldar goddess.Β  Even though she remains a prisoner of Nurgle, the Eldar of the Ishayr craftworld in particular kept hope that while this is so she was still watching over them, even when they're not truly aware.Β  In the case of this one scene, the Ishayrians came close to settling on a planet untouched by Chaos, yet it was not the one prophesied to them and still within reach of great evils.Β  It almost broke the bond the craftworld's three heroes had but they ultimately decided to press on despite Esther's personal objections.Β  Good for them, really, because that beautiful planet they set foot on fell to a Tyranid invasion years later.

That's awesome. Β Now you need to draw the tree... after it's suffered from the effects of the Tyranid invasion! Β

What was the lore?

Beautiful drawing, looks like an epic love story, the girl on the left looks so sad.

Aikurisu In reply to ZakFaire [2012-08-14 15:13:13 +0000 UTC]

Nah. She's just contemplating what the next day will bring while her half brother and his love try to decide where their fates should lead them.

... at least I think that's what I was writing on when I drew this. lol, I think I've misplaced the lore I was planning for here and have used parts of it for other works involving the three. Still, I do need to update this someday. >_>;;

Wow, this one is amazing. Love how your landscapes look all foggy but have a great deal of contrast.
BTW, I cant imagine how your writings can look bad, so keep up the good work. (Meaning more lore plis! )

Aikurisu In reply to ynguer [2011-11-18 13:40:34 +0000 UTC]

But... writing for a universe like 40k is a lot different to writing for my own.

Also, the last thing I want to do is to become openly loathed like say... Matt Ward? XD

Glad ya like this, btw.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ynguer In reply to Aikurisu [2011-11-20 16:24:19 +0000 UTC]

I do belive there's very good chance that you'll write very well as long as you don't become loathed, openly or not. (Who's Matt Ward? o.o)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to ynguer [2011-11-24 15:26:28 +0000 UTC]

As far as I know, Ward is a main writer for the Warhammer 40k universe, and in the past he has had a habit of making the lore for certain factions unbearable for many fans, while helping them loathe others, like the Ultramarines Chapter. It's his 'chosen' army, so he gives them quite a boost while at the same time weakening others. I think they have reason to be upset.

lol, as for me being loathed, I wonder if such a day will come. Probably. Just not to my face.
