Description
There has been no type of Alfurian ship refitted more over time than the Vakun Class. It is fast, nimble, strong alone or in a group, excellent at scouting, awesome as a fleet combat ship. Modern additions only extrapolate the versatility of the vessels by boosting sensor range, communications range, and enhancing combat abilities. Modern Vakuns have more and stronger shields than ever before. This allows them to be stronger beyond any mount of conventional armor could provide, even with advanced sovexian meshplates. New main gun turrets allow for rapid firing for saturation damage, making the light cruisers capable of gunning down nimble ships while also unleashing withering fire onto larger ships. Not to forget, x4 torpedo tubes make them effective against larger targets too.

They often serve as command ships for scouting groups, and although they rarely go out absolutely alone, they show a rare example of an Alfurian ship carrying another smaller ship! They can carry patrol and support ships on an external mounting platform. Vakuns sport all around capability, making them the on average most common and numerous Alfurian warship type.
