when you can look at a dirty old wall
and find beautiful things there
then you don't need to paint
painting is for those who cover dirty walls
and blank canvasses
with the beautiful things inside their heads
these things internal/external
are as different as spring and autumn
as true as new things begin
and old things fade
you don't need to paint the spring
when you can see the new shoots in the old ground
it is already there
you just need to show it to those who aren't looking
