Beautiful, man.

I wish I could say more, but it's to hard to express my thoughts with words..
My dear friend used to say, that language is a womb of misunderstandings.
I'm really glad, that my comments please you, I love riddles so much, especially such sentimental ones

I like how your friend describes communicating with words. We are visual artists; to add vision to the words in hope our understanding will be wider.

I like him to - his name is Confucius
I agree, visuals can say more than words. But still, probably nothing could ever say more, than music

Perhaps music uses rhythm and words to create pictures, where pictures create rhythm and words.

Thank you, it has made me consider that piece differently.

And thank you for your fave.

I made a petition a few weeks back asking for Activity Messages to be grouped with the other comments so we could see if someone who makes a comment or reply, gives also a fave, without having to refer to the bottom of the page each time. We think it would make answering everyone easier and quicker.
Well, we'll see if we are listened to. We were around 120 to sign.

Most welcome.

That's a really good idea, yes it would make things easier and quicker. But being listened to remains to be seen.

For me, the ebbs and flows. It speaks dichotomy to me. Yet within the dichotomy there is a balance, not a fight.

Maybe it was a commission to go with the room, but there is Just soooo much there. Proof that one cannot be separated very far from one's work.

"Proof that one cannot be separated very far from one's work."
Well said, this commission was a very strong reminder of this fact.

Is is a triptych ? It is so strange, with the bluish tint and the non 3D but more than 2D effect...
Your work is always true and deep.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lien In reply to MissUmlaut [2008-07-11 10:31:35 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much. It is a tryptych! This painting was a commission for a private collector and was painted to the space it was to be hung in, hence the slight deviation from my chronology.

MissUmlaut In reply to lien [2008-07-11 19:09:02 +0000 UTC]

So it seems : I feel it with some more space between.

Yes...there has been too much space actually.

memoryboy [2008-07-10 16:47:26 +0000 UTC]

This is so different from your other work; it feels lighter and less darkly intense. It also has an ethereal spatiality; and an apt title at that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lien In reply to memoryboy [2008-07-11 10:33:49 +0000 UTC]

Well spotted Jeeves, it is different because it was a commission for a private collector and was painted to the space it is hanging in. That's why it feels different and is lighter and less intense...great comment, thanks!

This has so many realities...land, mountains, clouds, underground, wintertime...it's like everything & nothing at all at the same time.
The movement in this piece gives the impression of life about to emerge.
