i may have already written-this work is so powerful-it was where i decided to stop looking for the day.
your work reminds me of the work done -i a way---well--rather-not BY--but IN a monastary. the quality of life wiith art-need to speak-mission. bare walls to contemplate into words profound.
i dont see you as a loer -but-i do see the quality of your work as that as done by one in solitary great spaces to be filled and seen. as history and no religion--just--profound peace and pain and truth.

beautiful words (to me)...rarely does someone really "get" what I am doing...but you do...thank you!

and the one i've seen-i remember clearly
not common (for me)--you have strenght of vision. not all...but most are powerful
intrigued -i'd love to know more about where your vision lies..i can see often what they may resemble--but what lies inside them is more what i wonder about

is it metal or tree bark?
that is the question

Good question: it's a combination of the two!

Beautiful! Work like this invokes thought - the best kind of art, in my opinion.

Interesting, last night as I was trying to fall asleep I was thinking about continuing this series of crime show inspired paintings. I had the idea to do bullet wounds and I had even decided to do entry and exit wounds.
Anyway, I saw your comment about the metal with a bullet hole in it and I just wanted to say, that is what I imagined when I first saw this piece. It reminded my of an old rusted out car I saw in Bosnia that was littered with bullet holes and had been sitting in the same place since the war.

That's exactly what I was getting at with this painting! A depiction of something that has not been touched since the bullet cut through it, and the impact of time and decay on the object. Glad it worked for you in that way...thank you!
This piece was a study for a larger more involved work so I'll be coming up with something based on this at some point.
But I'm very interested to see your development of the crime show related work...looking forward to it.

Sounds interesting, can't wait to see the finished product.
Hopefully, I'll actually get around to working on the crime inspired pieces. So often I get flashes of inspiration but never do anything about it.

A leaf less tree before a damaged wall....may be after the war !!

It's funny you should mention the war...my idea was to create the effect of a sheet of metal that had a bullet hole in it..and to show how it had aged with history since the second world war! But that isn't at-all obvious in the picture...

Indeed...but collective memory withers and changes like this painting over time...

I like the colour a lot, I love looking at it

This one bothers me, mostly because I wonder how long will the plaster last before it all flakes away & fall...it seems to be falling apart even in this captured moment.
It's one of those compulsive things... "makes me want to scrape it & replaster it before the mold grows in the cracks" kind of feeling.

That's so cool...that it bothers you, another wonderful reaction for me thanks! It's completely stable and won't fall apart but it's supposed to look it will.
