Description
A wwII ace pilot ditches in the desert and now has to walk back to civilistation. This was done in 3dsmax6, and the whole image wasbuilt and textured using procedural mapping. The charater was rigged for animation, and I did about 7 seconds of her opening the cockpit and standing up to examine the damage to her voight corsair, and rendered some shots of her plane coming through a cloud bank.Dunno If Ill ever make it into a short!!!!!!

I really am impressed with the interaction between the character and the scene composition. I also like the well-developed concept behind the render in the first place. Some of the trouble I have is deciding on a background, secondary props, clothing is a horror for me too. That would be why is choose *need gas* to comment on, it encompasses a lot of work I do not know much how to manipulate. I like the whole scene very much.

Well that's very cool. I'm very very interested to know how you did the footprints (bumpmap?) in the sand with a procedural, placing only a few where needed.

well, theres a plugin that you could use to make particle based displacements in a mesh, or you could use an animated displacment map, I just used volume select and push, then overlayed some particles on top.... I had to touch up the deppressions in pshop, and oved di it on the last two.....
