Description
Please bear with my not so good english and expressions =_=You may need to get more familiar with photoshop functions to understand what I am doing. There are many good basic tutorials out there
Also, photoshop is merely a tool. To make good pictures you need skills. Practice makes perfect ^^

I forgot to mention a very important step when I wrote this tutorial >>> the level tool @_@!
[link]
Right after you scan the image, select the level tool from image>>adjustment>>levels. Slide the white arrow to the left for clean background and gray arrow to the right for darker lines. Then carry on with the amendments

i'm pretty used to photoshop, so it was not much trouble for me. i will try this method.
i usually pencil sketch lines, do a rough ink job with felt pen (i try to be neat, but), and then scan at 300dpi
then in photoshop, channels > load channel as selection > and then press delete key.
presto! just lines and no background.
if my lines are particularly messy, as is often the case, i use the pen tool to clean them up.

my linearts are purely digital using a tradish (small) sketch for reference. is there anyway i can make smooth linearts even without the first few steps?
