Please bear with my not so good english and expressions =_=You may need to get more familiar with photoshop functions to understand what I am doing. There are many good basic tutorials out there
Also, photoshop is merely a tool. To make good pictures you need skills. Practice makes perfect ^^

Right after you scan the image, select the level tool from image>>adjustment>>levels. Slide the white arrow to the left for clean background and gray arrow to the right for darker lines. Then carry on with the amendments

OMG! Great tutorial! One thing though, im not sure what you do in the step where the lineart has a transparent bg, do you still use the pencil lines, or go over them with the pen? >w< thanks !

I have used the head system before, its a well known method around where I live~

300 dpi is great for printing but I dont get how that helps on a normal monitor. Monitors in general cant distinguish between anything over 100dpi as I understand them. Can you explain? (btw great tutorial, I knew some of this before hand but havent practiced it much, it is good to get reminders.)
