that narrow eye is perfect for one of my characters! Especially since she rarely ever opens them fully.

I have SAI. I have a tablet. I have a hilariously wierd talent of always choosing wierd eye colors. (Red, purple, green, 1 of each color, blank eyes, empty eyes ( Black and dark grey, no pupil or iris.))

I tend not to use photoshop (partially because I don't actually HAVE photoshop -_- ) and do most of my drawings on paper. With a pencil. And maybe a pen. Usually never to be touched with color because I'll screw the whole thing over.
. . . .
BUT! As I was saying, even though I don't use photoshop (or any other image editor other than the mandatory Gimp for cropping unwanted thingies out) this was helpful, just as how to draw and shade eyes.

i do every drawing i have in pencil on paper because i don't have ANY program for drawing or coloring on my computer (not that i'd know how to use one).

Yup, same here. I mean, I do use colored pencils often, but I always mess up :/
And markers. . . . Well, that's another story altogether. . . . I totally fail when using them. *sweatdrop* Eh, heh.
I usually don't ink my work, either, just because it usually ends badly. . .

i ink my drawings a lot. and i know there are some markers that you can shade with, buy i don't know what they're called.

Well, if you can shade with markers, it would be because there are many different shades.
Copic markers are probably what you're thinking about.

this will help me so much getting over my eye issues, Idk why, but recently I've been so many issues deciding what kind of eyes I want to use.

it locks the layer so you do the one color and lock it. then you can go and use other colors in that same layer but since it's lock you can only go in that section and don't have to be real careful to not go out of that color (like the eye, get the shape lock it and you don't have to constantly fix up the shape)
It's kind of like a mask tool.

i used to make another layer and hit "layer clip", but i guess this way's easier.

I find using a layer clip enables me to change the color darker just on that piticular layer and if I screw up then I don't have to start from scratch
