What people fail to get is Robotnik didn't just put himself into power. He literally could not have gotten to power without the support of the aristocracy. When you're wealthy and living in luxury, you don't rock the boat unless you have a really good reason. So that poses the question. Why was Robotnik better than Aleena? Why support Robotnik and not Aleena because the outcome would have been the same where they're concerned. Their lives would not have been affected either way. So why? Robotnik had nothing to give them. He NEEDED THEIR MONEY. That is to say if they decided one day to pull all of their funding, there's not much he could have done. So why? Why Robotnik and not Aleena? I also love how the story is told from Aleena's perspective, every episode starts with narration from Aleena, suggesting that this story is being told in the future to maybe grandchildren. The victor of the story is always the hero, they're the ones who get to tell the story. I wonder what it would be like if it was told from Robotnik's perspective or the perspective of say Bartleby, who is 100% neutral. He is loyal to both Robotnik and Sonia. It would be interesting to know why.
