Erebus was born to a Princess and Heir of a very Spiritual Pride. They had beliefs for everything, from the largest beast to the smallest ant. When it came to Erebus and his sister Nyx, their creation was not a gift from their Divines above , but a living curse from the Divines below. His litter was product of rape, he was told that from the very beginning from the Elders and his Grandparents. Erebus's Mother? She was nothing like the Elders. She never saw him or Nyx as Monsters. The Elders had made up stories about Erebus, that he was chaos made real due to his large size. That the male that Sired them was a demon from the pits of pure darkness that had captured their poor princess and cursed her to bare these abominations. The pride pleaded, demanded the Princess cast out these Monsters before they grew into something that would doom them all, but the Princess did no such they. This cubs were hers and she would not abandon them over the prides stories and make believes.

Erebus did lose his precious Mother though, the one lion in the world that was like his own personal sun. While playing one day off on their own, Nyx bumped him over the edge of a small cliff. As the young cub tumbled down the rocky incline, his right eye was severely damaged. When his body finally hit the base, it took him a minute to raise his head and look up at his smaller sibling peering over the ledge above. He called to her, begged her to go get Mother as fast as she could. His Sister quickly nodded and disappeared from sight. Nyx never came back with Mother, she never came back at all. Erebus laid there in his own blood till night fell around him, still waiting for his Sister to return with their Mother.

A sound was heard coming down the trail leading to him. Frantically the cub looked around, hoping to see the familiar frame of his Mother but that was not what was coming for him. A hyena had found him, it was alone and it's gait suggested it was beginning it's elder years. Erebus knew to fear Hyenas but what could he do? He was at this Hyena's mercy. As it neared him he came to a sudden halt, it hadn't even noticed he was there. Looking over him, it's gaze softened. This hyena didn't see him as a threat, she say him only as a abandoned child. Gently she scooped up the husky cub in her maw and carried him away from that barren, bloodied earth.

Erebus lived with that hyena from that day till he reached his adolescent years. Most of the boy's vocabulary was gone since his adoptive Mother could not speak like lions could. No matter what that giant boy loved her and her him they both knew that. Soon though their little den was becoming to cramped so Erebus would spend his day and nights roaming around their little home territory. One night Nyx appeared infront of him that she had came from the darkness. Of course he new who was she was, that was one thing he had not forgotten. She was his sister but still he expected his Mother to be trailing behind her, finally they had found him? Thought Mother was nowhere to be seen and Nyx told him that Mother was gone from this world. Soon Nyx talked him into following her on her journeys and give her his unyielding trust. Of course he agreed, he would be with his family again! What was left of it atleast. Leaving his adoptive home behind, Erebus followed Nyx into the night.
