Description
:Full View Please:'If seven maids with seven mops
Swept it for half a year,
Do you suppose,' the Walrus said,
'That they could get it clear?'
'l doubt it,' said the Carpenter,
And shed a bitter tear.
In "The Long Halloween" by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Scarecrow and Hatter communicate with each other through "Alice in Wonderland" quotes and nursery rhymes. The above is an actual quote from the book, where The Hatter proposes the question, in which Scarecrow replies, "Hrm, I doubt it."
And I find it HILARIOUS, but that might just be me.
This is a piece mostly based off of Crowscrow's fanifiction "Black and White" which you can find here: [link] . Be warned, though, it's not for younger readers.
The way Hatter is drawn here is EXTREMELY flattering. If you've ever seen him in the comics, you'll know what I'm talking about. He only ever looked good in B:TAS, and maybe Gotham Central, so this is a little bit of both worlds with a much more femine touch. Crane, on the other hand, seems to have many different looks depending on which comic you're reading. I obviously based this design off his B:TAS character.
The quality is a little grainy and I apologize, but no alterations were made on the computer.

Oddly enough I rather like the grain quality too this piece. I don't know why, I guess it's because it kind of reminds me of that "tea stain" feel. (Did that even make any sense?)
Anyway, lovely work! I especially like the small detail of the Gotham Times and Bat symbol added to the newspaper- it's much better than just the old thing blank.

ha ha i forgot i put the bat symbol in there! have you ever read "Black and White?" I love Jon and Jerv together, in a "more than friends" way. XD It's based on their comic personas, and I'm such a total nerd for the animated series, but still, it's a wonderful multi-chapter fic.

Hmm, Black and White? *racks brain* ... Oh, oh! That Black and White!
Yes, I've actually came across that fic a long, long, long time ago as per suggested by a friend. It was wonderfully written, but I have to admit the sex scene kind of shocked me a bit. XD;; But it was good regardless.
And multi-chapter you say? This, I did not know! Excuse me, whilst I investigate further...

*Dies from happiness* Wow...I actually read that story! I was surprised by how good it was. (I've read like three stories with this pairing, and 2 out of 3 had implied rape...Yeah, nOt My CuP oF tEa. But this made me reconsider the couple.)
I love the slight feminine charm you gave Jervis! It really adds to his charm. And Crane looks very elegant. Oh yeah, this is going in my faves!

Love you and love this! The colours are beautiful and Jervis just looks darling! Jonathan's expression is priceless! I'm a big fan of crowscrow and really think there should be more stuff like this for Jervis and Jonathan.

Heh heh heh. That seems like a good story - I should pick it up some time. Both characters are very cute here. Poor Crane doesn't seem to care for anything other than stock quotes.
Your skill as an illustrator is very obvious here. I love it.

Stunning! I really don't know much about the initial characters, but I love the colours and the contrast of both the patterns and the guys.
