Description
It was after a hectic Christmas Day that the Evans family could finally relax on their holiday. The four of them decided to get away from the miserable weather of New York City, and spend a few days at a warm resort. Kayla smiled at her younger brother, as he muscled his suitcase down the hallway, and followed him with good intentions. Darren stood anxiously at the hotel room door, waiting for his sister to unlock it.
“Come on Kayla! Hurry up!” He called excitedly.
“I’m hurrying!” She exclaimed back.
After a moment, Kayla put the keycard up to the door, noticing a green light show up, and opened it quickly. Two neatly made-up beds sat next to one another, as Darren flopped on one of them, sinking slightly in the comfortable sheets. Kayla placed her suitcase on her bed and began to place her clothes inside of the clean, walnut dressers across the room. She fixed her long, blonde locks in the mirror, as her t-shirt and shorts hung on her toned frame, and her brother playfully bench pressed the empty suitcase. Kayla giggled and met him on the bed, kissing his cheek gently.
“Can we go to the weight room at some point?” Darren asked, flexing his average arm.
“Why? You’re already insanely strong.” She replied with a wink.
“No, I’m-”
“Oh! Now I get it! You want to show off for the girls! Well Superman, if it’s any consolation, I already know two ladies that love you very much.”
Darren smiled and set his head on Kayla’s chest, as she stroked his hair slowly. The sound of gentle waves filled their room, as she picked him up carefully and set him comfortably beside her on the bed. She continued to massage his hair tenderly, and a small knock came from the door. Kayla lifted herself off the bed frame, and carefully creaked the door open, only to find her mother in the doorway.
“Your dad and I were going to head to breakfast if you guys wanted to join us.” Sharron exclaimed, wearing a deep blue sundress with a white floral pattern over it.
“He’s out like a light.” Kayla smiled, whispering gently.
“Really? Let me see…” She replied curiously, tip-toeing into the room.
To his mother’s amazement, Darren laid comfortably on the bed, with the blankets swaddling him inside. Sharron grinned, kissing him on the forehead, and fixing the covers around him.
“I guess the travelling really tuckered him out.” She exclaimed with a chuckle.
“Yeah, that’s why I had to carry him to the car.” Kayla laughed, folding her arms into one another.
“Well, we could leave him a note, head off to the beach, and have some fun.” Sharron replied with a grin.
“Yeah, that’d be cool. Let me grab my bathing suit.” Kayla exclaimed, leaning down into her suitcase.

Pairs of eyes marveled at the red bikini hugging Kayla’s frame, as she made her way towards her family’s umbrella, smiling at all the young children she passed. Looking up, she noticed her mother lathering Darren with sunscreen, and her father straightening out the towels on the pool deck.
“Would you just stand still for a minute?” Sharron exclaimed, trying to even out the sunblock.
“It’s really cold!”
“I know...There, you can go in the pool now.” She replied, giving him a gentle tap on the back.
“Is it my turn now?” Kayla asked, sporting a small smile.
“Get over here.” Sharron grinned.
Kayla sauntered over to her mom, as she sat in-front of her. A breath of relaxation exited her lungs, as Sharron began to tenderly play with her daughter’s long, blonde locks. Tension from Kayla’s toned shoulders evaporated, as she placed her head on her mother’s chest.
“How’s my little bee doing?” She smiled, untangling the small knots in her hair.
“She’s doing okay.” Kayla whispered.
“You know, I miss this.”
“Me too.”
“So, am I cool enough to come on patrols with you?” Sharron said into her daughter’s ear.
“That still feels weird to hear you say that.”
“I know sweetie. Maybe if we team-up a little, it’ll be less awkward for you.”
“That’s true.”
“Who knows? Maybe bench-pressing cars is good for mother-daughter bonding?” Sharron giggled, kissing Kayla’s forehead.
“Love you Mom.” She grinned.
“I love you more.”
After a moment, Kayla got up and helped her mother to her feet, as David took a photo of the strong duo. Letting go of Sharron, Kayla noticed the familiar figure of Alex on the other side of the pool, as she made her way over to him casually. He wore a plain white t-shirt and matching shorts, and a small smile overcame his face.
“Hi Alex.” Kayla exclaimed in a soft tone with a smile.
“Hi.”
“How was your Christmas?” She continued, giving him a friendly squeeze.
“It was pretty good. How about yours?” He replied, embracing her contact.
“It was good! Let’s have a chat over there.”
The two of them wandered over to one of the open lounge chairs, as they sat together, looking at the young children in the water.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” He asked, looking her in the eye.
“You know that I’m in a relationship, right?” She started, widening her eyes.
“I’m really sorry about the gala…”
“Alex, I’m not giving you trouble. It’s okay. All I wanted to say was that even though we’re not going to date, you’re very important to me, and I don’t want you to forget that.” Kayla smiled.
“Can I give you another hug?” Alex responded with tears in his eyes.
“Of course you can.” She grinned, embracing him and planting her lips on his cheek.
“There’s someone I want you to meet.”
After a moment, Alex waved over a young girl with a ponytail in her brown hair, as she ran over excitedly. Kayla grinned and placed her hands on her thighs, comfortably waiting for the young visitor.
“Kayla, I want you to meet Olivia, my little sister.” He introduced, lifting her into his lap.
“Hi sweetie.” Kayla exclaimed sweetly, wearing a smile.
The little girl nervously wrapped her arms around her brother, as the heroine gave her an inviting smile. Kayla tapped her legs gently, and held out her toned arms, as Olivia finally decided to sit in her lap.
“This isn’t so scary, right?” Kayla grinned, fixing the girl’s shirt.
“I love your hair.” She smiled softly, as she ran her small fingers through the blonde locks.
“Thank you!”
Small moments continued to pass, as Olivia began to eye Kayla’s bicep, and the heroine giggled softly. Her small hand attempted to fit around the toned arm, but to no avail, Making a goofy face, Kayla flexed her bicep for her new fan, as her eager, brown eyes expanded quickly. After a moment, Kayla stood up and carried Olivia towards the water, laughing and giggling with her new companion.
“Hey Alex.” Sharron smiled, touching his shoulder.
“Hi Mrs. Evans!” He exclaimed with an excited tone.
“Where’s Ka-”
Before she could finish, the older blonde looked up to the pool, and grinned at her daughter entertaining the young child.
“Just send her back over when she’s ready sweetie.”
She kissed Alex with a smile and she wandered back over to her blanket, where her husband gave her a knowing smile, as she bent down to kiss his mouth slowly. Moments continued to carry on slowly, as the laughter of children filled the air, as Sharron snuggled up to her love. He gently placed his hand in hers.as his blonde bombshell glowed with happiness.
