~ is that a bird?I have no idea what direction I should take to detail those bushes, so I just "imply details" with textured brushes.
Ugh, could never get the lightings and colours right. I probably should do more value study.
So, I have no idea what to paint recently, and I want to try a different style. I did some experiments on my own but couldn't really get the techniques down to make it right.

I quite like the atmosphere, actually -- it reminds me of something out of a storybook. I also like how you used a limited range of colors, yet still managed to imbue a wide range of tones in the piece. Nice work!

Colours are secondary. Once your value is established, any colour would work!

I don't notice any problems with the lighting so you've got me fooled. ^_^ I also really like the background. All the plants and textures are great! Very nice.

i think the lighting in this turned out quite well ... even small amounts of fog re-reflect light sources so much that there's really nothing single about a source unless it's particularly powerful and intensly directed ... It's part of why people tend to find fog so creepy, the light doesn't work the way it normally should which makes everything look and feel "wrong"
I like this because i can see this happening ... without thinking Fluttershy goes after one of her critter friends that ran off into the Ever-Free forest ... now she's trying to stay brave and work her way through, justifying her actions with something along the lines of "So long as there's *gulp* light nothing will come out to bother me" ... then she goes on to try and remember Pinky's "Laughter Song" so she's not so scared but the scaryness makes it hard to remember XD ... what happens after that is anyones guess
