This strip is related to ones from earlier this year where Winslow was trying to find ways to improve Ben & Winslow, which he thinks has become stale and uninteresting. Oh Winslow. Poor, poor, Winslow. This strip will never become stale. It is like a cheese, perfected with age and the occasional tuft of blue mold.
Humor often touches on sensitive or taboo subjects, but I hate it when people spout offensive things in unexpected situations and claim they’re being funny. It reeks of desperation, not a delicious cheese.
This is one of several ideas that went off on a darker tangent than I had initially planned, and it took several tries to get it juuuuust right. The intent here, of course, isn’t to offend anyone, and this one walks a finer line than most. And also appears on September 11th, when people are already in a somber mood. This was either perfect timing or the worst.
This is probably not canon.

I love your work, but sometimes it's more the horrifically fascinating and amusing casu marzu* than a fine cheddar. This strip is a case in point. It's both great and horrid. And Hippolyta should totally be Hippo kid's real name.
*Casu marzu is a rotten Sardinian cheese with jumping maggots in it. You eat it live maggots and all. Just cover it with a hand as you eat to keep them from jumping in your eye, and chew thoroughly-they can also burrow through your intestines. It's frowned upon by the authorities.

I am such a nerd for good writing and this particular strip is really well written, not to say that your writing isn't normally good.
The end really pulls it together and explains why Ben is duct-taped and tied up in the earlier panels. I think that even if someone didn't read the description they would be able to understand the point of this strip due to the last two panels.
Honestly this is really, really good writing, I could probably continue with my praise if it wasn't 3 in the morning, in my opinion the fact that it took several tries to get this just right worked to your benefit.

Thanks! It can be a challenge to convey an idea with such limited space. In the original drafts, those last panels came first, and Ben was never tied up. This version is significantly better.

Yeah, that's pretty annoying. :/ It reminds me of another thing I don't like -- when people act like total dicks to people for stuff they can't control (ethnicity, gender, SO, etc.) and justify it by facetiously saying "I'M NOT VERY PC" or "OH WELL SORRY FOR NOT BEING PC". I get that PC-ness gets out-of-control pretty often, but that's no excuse.
