Last one! This was based on Dubhghall 's suggestion of "ontological paradox." I don't want to say I saved the best for last, but I definitely like this one the most.
And no, this isn't some Freudian reflection on my impending fatherhood.

Tell me, Doc. Do you Photoshop in the backgrounds, or is it all hand rendered? Further more, why do you round the edges of the shade?

It's all hand rendered. But because I color pretty lightly, I darken the picture's hue on the computer, and then recolor all the areas that need to be white.
That includes the white space around the colored background (I only ever color around the main images, not the whole page). So it ends up smoothing the edges in the process.
