Description
Another of my now more-than-5-years-old Discworld fanarts I found while cleaning out my hard disk, and which shall be saved on Deviant Art, as I still like it (despite the perspective and anatomy mistakes, sheesh.)You can see I didn't know Paul Kidby's illustrations at that time, or I would have done the clothes differently
Anyways, Mustrum Ridcully and his merry men (and an ape, and a dwarf, and a thinking machine) of the Unseen University.
Except for the Archchancellor, the Dean, Ponder Stibbons and the Bursar I can't remember who was supposed to be who, so you can decide yourself which one of them is Recent Runes, Indefinite Studies etc.

I have a Christmas CD with a version of Deck the Halls that always makes me think that the Unseen University faculty people are singing it.
Also, my computer screensaver says "Out of Cheese Error".

the art is very well done.
one innaccuracy i noticed though.
The librarian is said in Interesting Times Not to have a fat face because he is not the dominant male of the university. Ridcully's face should be pudgier than his.
other than done, nice job!

Oops, you're right about the Librarian's face - I just took a picture of a male orang-utan as reference and didn't think of that.
Thanks for pointing it out, and thanks for the nice feedback!

Aren't their bodies a bit too short/their heads too big? and Modo's cart seems a bit off to me as well.
But if you say there aren't any mistakes, than of course I'll gladly accept that as true
Thank you very much for the nice feedback, and it's always nice to meet other Discworld fans
(and I've just read on your profile you've been to the DW Con? *____* Omg, how I envy you, I'd have to wanted to go as well!! But as it is, I have to keep my fingers crossed I'll be able to attend at least the tiny DW convention in German next autumn *sigh*
Ahhh, to attend a British DW con one day...! )

not really, theyre all big fat men so it actually quite accurate to have a slightly skewed head to body ratio and the beards add to the effect too. as for modo's cart, earrm lets just say i wouldnt have noticed it unless you pointed it out to me, and the offending line is only a smidgin out of place.

i know how you feel, i was on the cunning artificers forum for ages reading about everybody going to the con and going absolutly green ,unfortuanatly i was too young to go other years, i only just scraped in this one. mmm, as for you getting to the uk con i dont think it would be too hard, the next ones in two years so if your lucky enought to have a job youd probobly be able to save enough up to go. the hotel room dosent have to be paid until you check out ( whichh gives you more time to save) and if you grab a big (free) breakfast skip lunch and buy one of the bars big snacks for dinner (theyre around a fiver) youd only be spending around £35 for food for the entire con. as for flights i dont know but i assume that there would be cheap ones, there ususally are for most destinations and the hotels right next to the airport so transport wouldnt be a problom. garn im rambling again, sorry about that, in short good luck with any attept you might make to get there and if you need any help/ advice i'll put you in touch with some people that actually know what theyre talking about .

Aww shoot, I shouldn't have pointed out the cart then. Drawing attention to one's mistakes isn't the smartest move XDD
Thank you for your tips for going to the British DW con, I'll try to go the year after next~ Actually, money isn't the issue that much (I'm already working, so my budget is ok) but rather finding someone who'd go with me, because going to a convention alone is lonely, plus a single room at the hotel costs more.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid all my Discworld loving friends in Austria don't love it enough to go on such an expensive trip to Britain
But If I can make them come to the German DW con near Cologne and they enjoy it, maybe they'll change their mind about Britain! We'll see~
Again, thank you very much for the feedback and advice!

no problem
as for rommsharing thats easily sorted- just go and join the cunning artificers forum [link] (which is kind of the non-official organizing forum for all types of pratchett events in the uk) make a few friends chat , get to know people etc. when the con draws closer there is allways a thread organizing roomshares. there are usually other threads for newbie meetups for those that havnt gone to a con before and everbody is so friendly that yould have half a dozen friends by the closing ceremony, you can even limpit (hang around with) me if your willing to be involved in some very odd shenanegins .

Thank you, that's really really so nice of you
And I believe it must be easy to make friends on British DW forums if everybody is as helpful us you (I'm really touched, you know)
And I don't mind shenanegins (had to look up this one XDD) at all.
Also: "limpit" *stores awesome new British word in her memory*
