"Come on Fluttershy!" Soarin called as he flew up higher into the sky, "Just a little more!"

The pale yellow pony clenched her teeth as she pumped her wings harder, smothering her desire to cry that she couldn't do it. Her wings hurt and her breathing was become labored but she was determined to catch up to blue Pegasus that stood out in the setting sun.

He had been so kind as to offer to help her fly that she didn't want to let him down. Rainbow Dash had been here earlier, but when her friend proved to be a slow learner she had gotten tired and gone home.

"Come on Shy! You can do it!" The male called, stopping in his pace to wait for her to catch up.

Fluttershy squeezed her eyes shut and put all her effort into flying as high as him. But it was so hard and-

Without warning her wings finally buckled under the strain and the yellow pegasus began to plummet to the ground, a whimperish cry coming from her mouth as she did so. Just as suddenly as when she fell, she came to a stop as Soarin swooped in and carried her back up to the sky.

"That was good, Fluttershy you almost made it up there!" He said, looking to the clouds that were turning golden as Celestia brought the sun down. "Just one more try and I'm sure-"

"No Soarin! I can't do it!" Fluttershy cried, tears running down her face. "I can't! I'm not like you or or Rainbow Dash...I can't fly like you can," the poor pegasus said, upset from her lack of progress.

The wonderbolt stared at her for a moment then smiled at her gently. "That's okay, Fluttershy. It's okay if your not a strong flier, or that you cant do like me and Rainbow Dash because..." His wings gave a strong pump suddenly and he shout towards the clouds, still hang onto poor Fluttershy who had gone limp at this point. They broke through the clouds and Soarin spread his wings out, holding them just above the cloud layer.

Below them was a sea of gold and above them a sapphire sky dotted with stars.

"Because, I'll be your wings."

Okay I'm gonna be honest here, this pairing seems much more interesting to me then Rainbow Dash x Soarin. I think Fluttershy needs someone like him, rather then someone whose also shy and sensitive. Their too cute together <3
