I've been in love with these beautiful characters since forever and a day! I hope I did them justice. ; u;
Colors may not be 100% accurate, please blame that on lighting....

Hi, I found your piece through Project Comment and would like to give you some feedback on your work.
I always thought of acrylics as a tricky medium to work with, so I am actually really impressed by how well you manage to paint with them.
I really like how the paint adds different textures to your piece and hence makes your work appear more dynamic and three-dimensional.
I don`t really know the characters you illustrated here, but I really like their faces and think that their bone structure is really well done.
As someone said before me, you did an amazing job on the hair to the person on the left. I don`t really think there is anything wrong with the eyes on the person to the right though.
Maybe it appears that way because of the lighting of your piece. And here is where I believe the main issue of your work starts.
Your lighting is all over the place. The hair on the person to the left seems to reflect the light from the right, which doesn`t seem right to me since the person on the left has the main shading on the right side of his face.
A light source from the back doesn`t seem right either. The shadings on their faces wouldn`t be as pronounced as they are now.
There are a lot of good tutorials on the internet on how to do light and shadow. Take a look here: design.tutsplus.com/articles/i…
But overall, your piece is very well executed. Keep it up

Hi! I am here on behalf of Project Comment. First of all, let me say that I find your piece awesome.
I don't know the actual characters, so I can't judge the ressemblance and whether you did them justice. But you did something really great.
I'm usually not familiar with painting, but your piece wears a bit of a "manga/drawing feeling" and I like what you have added to
it by choosing the acrylic. What I think you managed the most is the white hair of the character on the left. The light and shading are very well done.
I also love the way you have painted the faces. They are very expressive, especially the one on the left with it's freckles.
There is something a bit strange in the eyes of the character on the right. Maybe you could have added slight shadows under the eyes to
make the look seem more realistic.
What I think could be improved : the folding and the lighting of the clothing. Sometimes it looks a little bit randomly done.
I can't find more things to add to the To be improved list, and overall, I think it is very beautiful.

I deliberately used acrylic to add some extra dept to my otherwise static manga-like work, so I'm really glad it comes across that way! ; u;
And I also thought something was off with the second characters face, I just couldn't pinpoint it. So thank you for your comment!

Your welcome
It hurts to loose, but there will be other chances.

I kinda think background could have been a bit smoother (not it terms of the texture, these brushstrokes of yours look amazing, but like, in color gradient). A light strobe like this calls for sharper light and shadow on the characters, but they are beautiful as they are
I also like that the faces are really well rendered, they look alive and very different in many ways, well done

Thank you very much! c:
I honestly did not think much of the background in terms of light source, I just thought an oval shape would suit the composition. Thank you for pointing this out!
