How am I supposed to fit a story into the fleet ? A TOS-era Yamato refitted by 'Easy-Swap' method by using existing parts?

I will definitely change somehow, it will incorporate the Constitution Cargo hatch (the red line) below the shuttle bay. The lower aft torpedo tubes, rather than two tubes, it will be one, and its sides are protected. Another planned changed is the saucer, just the top, the bridge will be moved to the rear, perhaps underneath the torpedo pod--maybe it's for protection based on the original model.
