we have to remember that this is set in the 1700's. There was a lottt of racial and social class discrimination back then,
(Tho obviously not against monsters,) And this was really what it would have been like for monsters if they existed.

I'm pretty sure it's 1800s instead though, For all I know military uniforms were like that in 1800s rather than 1700s, I could be wrong though.
