Description
baby black widows are knownto float - to alight on you
to ride you home
to grow -
to lurk -
hungrily
to birth more young
right where you live
dozens of them
to grow -
to lurk -
hungrily
they seem to have no plan
for now
except...
to grow -
to lurk -
hungrily

Those last two repetitive lines really cements the creep factor. I'm not afraid of spiders and do my best to chase them out rather than kill them whenever I see them in my home but the thought of swarms of anything esp., baby spiders (like the ones that teem all over mama's back) gives me the serious heebie jeebies.

Give me the creeps, why don't you??!! I hate spiders. I remember the moment I knew I was a "grownup." It was when I was in my first apartment and realized that my dad wasn't there to kill the large, ugly spider in my living room.

We have a woodpecker that keeps pecking at the metal thing (what's it called?) that caps our chimney. I tell you, I'm a woman of peace, but bird-shot doesn't sound entirely bad to me.

a 'chimney cap' perhaps?
don't shoot the woodpecker!
maybe a scarecrow on the roof would do it?

A chimney cap, yes. The first time it happened, my husband when outside the house and yelled at him until he flew off. I just tapped this metal plate on our chimney really hard.
