If there was a maroon stripe across each shoulder of the wings then it would have been an Alexandian Indian Ringneck. I used to own one, they make very loving pets. That ring around the neck states this is a male which developes at about one yr of age. These birds have some very difficult diet issues when they reach about 4 yrs of age and sometimes they die suddenly due to it. They also come in sky blue and a pale yellow.
