I don't think a list should dictate whether or not something should be cared about.

I'm not saying you shouldn't care about them. My point in linking you to that is, despite what you claim, gray wolves in parts of the USA are not endangered.

If this comment isn't sarcastic you'll have to excuse me while I go piss myself laughing. Do some research.

(Just sayin' )

So you're saying they're not endangered? Is that why they're on the ENDANGERED SPECIES LIST? Because they're NOT endangered? Yeah, that makes total sense.

My god, another one.

Just look at all the OTHER comments where wolfaboos have said that, and read the ALREADY POSTED replies to those comments stated that, no, as a whole, they're not.

Okay look, when I first commented it must've been when you first put it up, I saw no comments. After I commented, there were tons. It's the internet, shit like that happens.

Yeah, I don't need a fucking link back to something I commented on, deviantart gives that for me. I'm just saying, this guy needs to clarify his shit.
Most people are going to assume he's talking about Gray Wolves in the US since the majority of dA users are from the US last time I checked, (it may have changed, who knows, who cares?) What I'm saying is, in the continental USA, Gray Wolves are endangered. In the world, there are plenty, but their numbers are slowly being depleted. Let me give you a shiny [link] .

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ABShii In reply to m-mayhem [2010-10-11 13:42:27 +0000 UTC]

Don't need your shiny link. That's been repeatedly posted all over this stamp's comments, if you CARED TO LOOK AT THEM.
You obviously don't, or you wouldn't have said something so blatantly stupid.

I'm not the one trying to prove something obviously false. You were misinformed, be a big kid and get over it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ABShii In reply to m-mayhem [2010-10-12 01:22:37 +0000 UTC]

How about you be the big kid and realize you're wrong? Grey wolves aren't endagered as a whole, which is what the stamp is saying. Subspecies, like the Mexican wolf and red wolves, however, are.
Keyword there, subspecies.

Grey wolves are endangered in certain areas of the world. I know as a whole they're not, I just fucking said that.

So, I never said, "In the world, there are plenty..." referring to Gray Wolves and their population? Funny seeing as I just copied and pasted that from one of MY responses. C'mon nowww.

Naaaaw. Was it a response to me? 'Cause honestly, I don't really read shit when I feel sick. People who don't get the meaning of the stamps they comment on do that to me. 8D

In Sweden wolves are endangered, come back to me when you have facts.

m-mayhem In reply to AwesomeLurker [2010-10-12 22:09:23 +0000 UTC]

I never said in certain places they're not endangered. In the USA they're endangered, too. I have the facts. Technically the guy that made this stamp isn't wrong. It's all about the person posting comments and where they're from and the gray wolves' status there that created this shitstorm.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AwesomeLurker In reply to m-mayhem [2010-10-12 22:16:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm pretty sure overall in the US they're under "least concern".

m-mayhem In reply to AwesomeLurker [2010-10-12 22:28:53 +0000 UTC]

Alaska, there are tons, yes. But they are of concern for Wyoming and Colorado. I was talking about the continental US.

Very, very true, I used to actually think this myself .

Then I started using more of my braincells.

Is it just me or does it seem like virtually every wolfaboo seems to be aware of only one or two types of wolf? The Arctic and the Gray wolves, I've hardly ever seen them talk about Ethiopian wolves, or Mexican Grays.

Some people have been saying "LOLWOOPS LOOKS LIKE THE GRAY WOLVES ARE ENDANGERED". I can't say that's true, because I know not to trust everything on the internet.

I've read a few pages of comments and...I have a question.

Does anyone know anything about wolves at all?

I don't know a damn thing about them, but from what I've read, every bit of info is arguable.

Are they endangered or not? D:

alaska-is-a-husky In reply to KearaLemon [2010-09-05 22:20:18 +0000 UTC]

It depends on what species/subspecies you're talking about and where it's located. The North American gray that just about everybody thinks of when they hear the word "wolf" is doing rather well while the smaller Mexican wolf is quite endangered. Unfortunately it's the former that still gets all the attention.

They WERE endangered but not anymore^^

Gottobestrange In reply to ??? [2010-07-04 22:49:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, indeed, they weren't endangered anymore for quite a long time, quite a happy moment for wolf lovers everywhere, but truth be told it did not last long sadly. In a National Geographic magazine they were sad to announce wolves were endangered again, why, because when they rose in numbers, they became open game to anyone with a gun. The reaction was so shocking to how many people, towns, farmers, family, were suddenly shooting wolves just for the thrill of it, that even my redneck neighbours were left gobsmacked. As much on deviantart there are people who go a bit..over board on their love of wolves, but there are still many who utter detest wolves. There is this one town that if they got they hands on a wolf, they'd actually cut off the wolf's head and put it on a pike in front of through town to spite wolf lovers. (You don't want to know what they did to the wolf pups..) When the wolves became unprotected, that town had one hell of a hunting party to celebrate. The sheer degree of slaughter that is going on to these creatures that people worked so hard to build back up, that they are consider to put them as endangered again. If you don't believe me, look it up.

that's disgusting.
I am a wolf lover but lets see them get angry when I treat another animal like that; like domestic cats. Just shoot all their pets down and put them on spikes on my front lawn so warn all pet lovers from entering my house, lol

kaikikuro In reply to bingles [2010-08-04 03:36:27 +0000 UTC]

Wolves kill people, pets, and destroy property.

Many cats and dogs don't do that. If a cat or dog was dangerous and killed a person then it would of course be put down. Like any other animal that kills a human being and is on the loose.

bingles In reply to kaikikuro [2010-08-04 03:38:47 +0000 UTC]

Pff. I see all animals are equal.
If a human killed one of my wolf pack I'd hunt it down and put it on a spike infront of my wolf den.
And yes, to me, humans are equal to chickens, cows, etc. I'd be just as happy to eat human as a chicken.

kaikikuro In reply to bingles [2010-08-04 03:41:43 +0000 UTC]

I do as well.

That's why I normally question people to only care about wolves, foxes, lions, and pretty animals while ignoring the my rid of ones they're hurting indirectly as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bingles In reply to kaikikuro [2010-08-04 03:43:45 +0000 UTC]

lol yeah. There's people out there who are so passionate about animals then they go OUT OF THEIR WAY just o kill a spider that was minding it's own business or some hypocritical thing like that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kaikikuro In reply to bingles [2010-08-04 03:45:59 +0000 UTC]

Lol.
If I can I normally catch the animal and put it back outside.
However I'm allergic to wasps, so unfortunately I have to kill them. :/

Certain species of wolf are, but everybody's favorite fluffy North American grays are doing pretty well.
