Its like some areas in California cougars are FAR from endangered. Yet people sit there in the hunting field with fog horns trying to save them. And a'lass they starts complaining that there dogs and cats are getting eaten because there's to many animals for the animal reserve to feed all the cougars and coyotes they 'saved'. I wish people did more research before they risk there lives.

It's true in general they aren't endangered, but some sub-species are actually critically endangered, and unfortunately wolves were totally wiped out of Japan.

The logic you are trying to inject here is folly. There is a wide variety of rodents in Alberta. To say that just because pockets of higher populations ( say wolves or rats ) exist in some spots vs. another, doesn't mean the whole of the population is well off. Here, this stamp is misconstruing the north American grey wolf which is a subset of species lupis. There are the Mexican Grey wolf, Manned wolf etc. which ARE endangered.
You are just taking a narrow perspective and you saying that's the whole picture...well.... is narrow minded.

This isn't an opinion, this is a fact, that as a whole the Grey Wolf (canis lupus) is not endangered. It's on Least Concern.

You are 100% correct in that wolves are not Endangered. As a matter of fact, I think the IUCN lists them as LC = Least Concern globally.
However, where I come from, Sweden, they are Critically Endangered. Our population of wolves in Scandinavia as a whole is about 220 individuals, and that pop. suffers from quite severe inbreeding. There is an active process in trying to fix this though, which involves license hunting to remove the genetically "inferior" wolves and put in new ones from Russia.
And the reason that the wolf pop. needs to be fixed is that it is a keystone species in our ecosystems. Wolves take prey that brown bears, lynxes and wolverines won't, the most obvious being elks (which we are already seeing effects of the lack of wolves in).
I'm not saying this to be a "wolfaboo"; I just wanted to add a voice from a different part of the world than North America.

I agree that they are not. At least, not really. I believe they were delisted a while ago, if my information is correct.
I love wolves personally, but see nothing wrong with hunting, as long as it is sustainable. I would not go out myself and hunt, but that is more because it is not how I make my living, and if I do not need to hunt in order to survive, I will not.
I would enjoy seeing how all the PETA supporters would live if all advanced human civilization died in two minutes and the only way to survive was to hunt like it's the Stone Age. That would make an interesting movie.

Yeah, grey wolves aren't the endangered animal species list. They were recently taken off. I just LOVE how other people are pulling out the list and are like "its right there!" I love grey wolves, but i know their not endangered...
