A tiny bottle filled with broken watch bits on a skeleton key. Thought it was a cool shot despite the crap lighting from my computer monitor. c:Related content

I'd say the lighting was about right actually. Given that this kind of steampunk stuff usually harkens back to the victorian era (yay oil lamps) then too much light might look out of place. Putting water in the bottle is a great idea. The slow movement of the cogs will look a lot more graceful - and more like the actual movement of cogs - than having them jangle around. Have you considered using a clear oil instead if there's going to be another of these? The higher density might make them float a bit more, and might prevent rust problems.

I'm thinking of changing the water to oil if I can find some... the water is turning the cork black and no matter how hard I try, a giant air bubble keeps forming. o_x

Hmm. That might be because the cork is soaking up a small amount of the water. If you soak the cork before filling it with water the air bubble may not form - not sure. Of course then you have problems with the cork turning black.

I particularly like the bottle of watch pieces. Maybe that's because I find bottles filled with tiny bits interesting, or because I like shiny things. ;b
