Description
He will protect the forest from despair and darkness. This is Darkwing, a dragon character belonging to a commissioner of the same title. He wanted a charactersheet but when I read the description and what he means to do, protecting forests and being a general good soul, I couldn't resist painting this scene.
The stag embodies darkness, death and despair.
Here is a clearer design concept of the stag:
Thank you soo much for looking <3

I like the turn on this, instead of the dragon being a terrifying monster, it is a protect against something that is normal considered good but turns out to be evil and in the end even though protecting, the dragon keeps its might.

You know; you actually switched the meanings most people think of when they view those animals... and I'm glad you did! ^^ Why can't dragons be the good guys?

Yay! The dragon is good! To many dragons are represented as evil or mindlessly savage which I frown upon greatly.

It is absolutely amazing! O..O
The dragon seems to stand out from the image, as if it had life. Very well detailed and really reflects a kind and friendly image.
Hey, wait a minute ... I acknowledge that deer! XD
Not seem to feel any kind of fear and seems to be willing to fight.
The duality between darkness bring the deer behind him and the light that comes under the dragon is amazing. It symbolizes well the eternal battle between good and evil. The colors you chose are great and the distribution between the two symbols is more than great. Although I do not disapprove of it has increased the presence of light, I wished that the presence of the dark was a little more pronounced - it would have helped to be a bit more dramatic this scene ...Β Β
Also the background is very well detailed.
But it is just my opinion, there is so much I want to say but I can not think of words. It is a wonderful job! n..n Β Β

I gotta say that the commissioner asked you for an epic piece, not to mention you made it so alive and awesome that it seems to jump out from the canvas!

I love how you combined the two different realms to make one. You have the dark and dreary combined with the bright and full of life. And the animals you chose to represent them was indeed spectacular. ^_^ Wonderful Piece.Β

It's taken me a long while to find the words for this.Β
All of your heart and soul are so often evident through so much of your work. This is one of those pieces without doubt. There is a soul to this story and its brilliant. I love it beyond words. Β
You always inspire and lift up my heart.Β

Sublime dragon. I was thinking about sculpting one anyway, but your art captures a good transition between the ambient and the creatures selves. Good work here

It's not that darkness is evil, but that in this picture it is the deer trying to kill the forest, also WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT GENDER THE DRAGON IS? LOOK PAST THAT FOR 2 SECONDS AND APPRECIATE THIS WORK OF ART

Kind isn't necessarily the word, i'd say more, noble I guess? Guarding? But yeah the irony of this is just lovable.
